15 Black Lives Matter and Racial Justice Quotes to Inspire You to Join the Revolution

As my first blog post of 2021, or as I refer to it as 2020, the Sequel, I chose to borrow words that will spark change. The Faux Coup attempt by the Orange Megalomaniac, carried out by "Vanilla Isis & Y’All Qaeda" was ABSOLUTELY foreseeable. Not only was it predictable it was ALLOWED. We witnessed police and politicians actively participating in the invasion of The Capitol.

We've seen what they are going to do. More attempts to bring down Olympus are sure to follow. There is no sigh of relief to be had. War has been declared so I beg the question, "What are we going to do?" Activism, in part, demands people from throughout the diaspora to unite now more than ever.

We have to mobilize and respond!

PLAN strategically to defend your family and property.

PROTEST against fascism, racism, and all the other isms.

EDUCATE those who lack the knowledge required to do the work.

DONATE to causes, organizations, and political allies who are on the front lines.

Inspired yet? I hope so because we are going to need every hand on deck to fight the good fight. If my few words aren't enough, below are 15 Black Lives Matter and Racial Justice Quotes to Inspire You to Join the Revolution.

“It’s important for us to also understand that the phrase ‘Black Lives Matter’ simply refers to the notion that there’s a specific vulnerability for African Americans that needs to be addressed. It’s not meant to suggest that other lives don’t matter. It’s to suggest that other folks aren’t experiencing this particular vulnerability.”President Barack Obama

That the masses are poor, that the masses belong to what you call the lower class, and when I talk about the masses, I’m talking about the white masses, I’m talking about the black masses, and the brown masses, and the yellow masses, too. We’ve got to face the fact that some people say you fight fire best with fire, but we say you put fire out best with water. We say you don’t fight racism with racism. We’re gonna fight racism with solidarity.” Fred Hampton

"But all our phrasing—race relations, racial chasm, racial justice, racial profiling, white privilege, even white supremacy—serves to obscure that racism is a visceral experience, that it dislodges brains, blocks airways, rips muscle, extracts organs, cracks bones, breaks teeth. You must never look away from this. You must always remember that the sociology, the history, the economics, the graphs, the charts, the regressions all land, with great violence, upon the body." - Ta-Nehisi Coates

Then, when you're dead, when they've killed you by what they made you go through, they say you didn't have any character. They weep big, bitter tears—not for you. For themselves, because they've lost their toy." - James Baldwin
